One spot remains.
I can’t believe it. My dream of hosting a huge, epic, impacting spinathon is going to come true. I only have one bike left.
That’s 16 bikes an hour for SIX hours are filled, save for one. One.
Claire has been making her thank you cards in preparation. She’s also been doing her miles. She has a personal best time of 10:02. That’s better than most adults, I’d have to say. She’ll be doing another one today. Can she beat it?
Today we finished the construction of her collection can.
She asked me what it’s for. I told her that it’ll be for when people come to spin, they’ll put their donation in the can. She then said, “Wow! I’ll make it super fancy so people feel extra good for giving!”
What started as a Trader Joe’s chocolate whey protein powder can has been paper mache-ed, (is that even a word?) painted and drawn on to perfection.
Either way, she chose to paint the dogs in dark blue and the cats in dark green.
She chose to put on two coats of metallic light blue paint, and the sign glued on it says, “Thank You, xoxo Claire.”
Only two and a half weeks away! I can NOT wait! It’s going to be so fun and it’s for such a fantastic cause that every day I believe in more and more. As Claire said back in December when we started this journey, “All the dogs and cats do is love us.”
So we can be there for them.
Thank you to all of you who have donated to us, be it in December or for the marathon this May. We truly appreciate it!
Only one bike left! I’m still so shocked. This is going to be awesome.
